Hey there! I’m Jess, a self-taught web and interactive designer based in sometimes-sunny San Francisco, CA. I’ve always been passionate about design and making things look great, but in the last few years I’ve gone beyond just the way things look to thinking about how people actually use what I’m building. That’s where my interaction design experience comes into play — I strive to make the best possible user experiences when it comes to the web.

With a background in Mass Communications and Economics from UC Berkeley, I’m savvy in business needs and I keep practicality in mind when designing. I’m a firm believer in Jeffrey Zeldman’s saying that if your site or design doesn’t serve users, it doesn’t serve business. I look at everything from as many angles possible to come up with creative solutions to life’s (and client’s) problems — whether it’s crafting a new site for a client who needs more customers or creating a Bay to Breakers costume out of an old t-shirt, cardboard and duct tape.
